It has been too long since I’ve written here. So much has happened in my life lately, so many good changes, that it boggles my mind sometimes.
And, since I am in the process of creating good habits, and writing is definitely something I want to add to my everyday life (since it has the potential to bring so much good to me and perhaps other), I have decided to start writing on a regular basis.
Thanks to a really precious pearl of a friend who has been encouraging so much, for so long. And you know who are sweetie. 😉
Anyways: How about I start this new process with what I would call “Interviews with myself.” Basically, writing as if I am talking to real, flesh and bone person … except this person is one of the core and key part of my personality.
And I’ll start with the demoness within myself: None other than the one who is called Asphodèle! For simplicity purposes, I’ll call myself ‘Robin’ for this. (It’s designed to help me train for another project 😉 ).
Okay, enough chit chat, let’s go:
********************************
“Imagine you are inside a pretty and cozy home, in the living room. The mood inside is a mix between vintage decorations for things like the sofa and the fireplace, and modern for the paintings and “collages” on the wall.
Two people are sitting comfortably in front of each other. The first looks like a regular man in his mid forties (but actually looking much younger thanks to exercises and good eating habits), and the other … well … let me try to explain:
The general shape is of a woman in her mid twenties … but not entirely human. For she is a demon: With goat horns, double fangs somewhat like a vampire but more savage. Her wings are not visible and have retracted invisibly in her body. But if you could see them … And she does not just have a single pair either but, actually two … yes that makes FOUR wings in her usual form. They are somewhat shaped like those of a bat, but much more curvy, and noble looking than that of the mammals.
Another thing that is quite visible, is that she is ripped … not like a steroid fed culturist … but rather muscular like a vicious international champion of an MMA league. In another words, she is ripped … ripped like a true fighter.
For the occasion, she is wearing the clothes … or should I say the armor when she first appeared to me. Some kind of studded leather armor, covering almost all her body, and further reinforcing her demonic appearance.
A final touch is the pentacle on her head … contrasted with the christian cross she is wearing on her neck … and no, there is no irony in there and she is quite proud of wearing it … a gift from someone up there that she respect a lot.
We’ll get back on the subject of respect.
And thus, after a very long introduction, began the interview itself … or should I say the first part?”
Robin: All right, I suppose we should start with the beginning, by introducing ourselves. Let me do it: Hi! My name is Robin and the fierce but lovely looking … lady in front of me is …”
Demon Girl: I can do it myself my psyche! I don’t need your help for that. In fact you’re the one who needs mine, just saying.
Robin: Euhhh … fine. So, tell me who are … Mrs?
Demon Girl: Who am I? … Simple mortal. I am the thing lurking in the darkness inside your mind. I am the equal and opposite of you: Night to your day, Ying to your yang, I am the shadow that brings balance to the light of your soul. I am … ASPHODELE, and you would do well to heed my council mortal … or should I call my psyche.
Robin: Oooooookay. I am starting to get used to it sharing the same brain and body and all. But don’t you think it might be too intense an introduction for our potential readers out there (yeah I know, I am dreaming a lot on that front).
Asphodèle: I’d say, if they can’t handle a little pressure or intensity, as you’ve eloquently put it … they’re not worth my time. Fortunately for both you and me,YOU are worth my time my psyche.
Robin: Well dear readers, as you can see, the cohabitation is not always easy when you have such a demon inside yourself.
Asphodèle: Perhaps you shouldn’t be complaining and be thankful that I am here. I did save your hide on more than one occasion.
Robin: Not complaining, just mentioning that this honor didn’t came for free, that’s all.
Asphodèle: I am a demon, I am power mortal. And all power come with a price. That’s just the reality of the world we live in.
Robin: And, fortunately, a price than I am more than happy to have paid. It was and is still certainly worth the investment. Speaking of your “demonic” nature, why don’t you tell us more about it. How do you rate on the … shall we say … “Dante’s scale”?
Asphodèle: Well, we demons aren’t exactly what most you make of us, my psyche. But to give you an answer, if the fabled Dante had met me, he would have seen that I am not only a demon, but an Archdemon, of both Pride AND wrath.
Robin: The embodiment of two sins at the same time? Isn’t that a tad bit excessive?
Asphodèle: Did you think an Archdemon, or rather, an Archdemoness of Pride would settle with just a SINGLE sin, hum?
Robin: eheheh, that’s actually a good point. By the way, can I be described as being … how could I put it? … completely off my rocker? It’s not everyday that an agnostic with atheist tendencies admit he has a demon … sorry … ARCHdemoness inside his psyche.
Ashodèle: Not all my psyche. We’ve discussed this at length, the how and the why I am here. But that’s a discussion for another time. We could literally spend hours discussing the matter. But we’ll get to the bottom of this eventually. And besides, it’s way past the witching hour in the waking world. It’s morpheus time for you my psyche. We’ll continue in the morning.
Robin: All right … MOM! But before we go, maybe you could give us a tiny exemple on how it is exactly that you are helping me?
Asphodèle: Well, the way I help with your anger management issue and the lessons of “cold anger’ as I am trying to teach you would take too long to explain today. How about this instead? Tell us what physical activities you’re doing first. Then I’ll give you all an exemple.
Robin: I was hoping it would be that one. Thanks Asphodèle! I am currently signed in a Karate Wado Ruy club and the sensei is pushing us rather hard but I love it. And of course, I have been on and off the fitness for a while now. Tough it is becoming something I am going to do for a lifetime now I guess.
Asphodèle: Indeed! I’ll make sure of that!! And you better keep it up. Anyways dear mortals who are reading, one way I help Robin my psyche here is by giving him the necessary mental strength and willpower to sustain intense physical effort … despite a mind being heavily weakened and abused for quite a few decades now.
It is quite difficult for most of you mortals, but doubly so in a sense for him. And when he’s on the verge of breaking up … that’s where I intervene. And with pomp and flair if I might say so.
Robin: You sure can Asphodèle. It’s … rather intense when you do. Tell us how you do that.
Asphodèle: How about you tell us how it feels for you instead, my psyche? While we share it, and your mind, these are still you mind and body after all. Please do explain how it feels, using your own words and point of view.
Robin: Well … that’s a tough one. I’ll try anyways.
Asphodèle: You will if you don’t want hellish nightmares tonight my psyche.
Robin: Okay, okay, no need to get excited. I should probably start with the fact that the text I am writing here is somehow a, perhaps clumsy and awkward attempt, to explain how we are almost constantly talking to each other.
Asphodèle: I think you are doing well, better than most would in your situation my psyche, but I’ll let your readers be the judge of that. Go on.
Robin: Sure. So, let’s take the Karate as an example. It often happens that, due to still lacking some physical aptitudes, like stamina or streching abilities, that I feel like giving up, both physically and mentally. That’s when you start being talkative … and, well … “visible” tough that might not be the right word.
Asphodèle: Indeed. It’s not about me giving you hallucinations but, rather, drawing on your exceptional capacity for visualization … just like Tesla did in the past. I appear to you mortal, my psyche. You hear pushing you forward, encouraging you to draw from my reserve of demonic strength.
And, when it is not enough, I use your visualization to make sure you “see” me. Tell us on how I like to appear in those case.
Robin: I’ve noticed you do like to use your full combat armor with dual wings in those case. And you also like to use a … Shall we say … occult item shaped like a floating, circling atom. I am not sure which one, but it has quite a few electron and they are turning fast around the core.
Asphodèle: And the faster they circle, the more power and determination I give you and the more you are able to surpass yourself, in this case physically. You could also say that this item also represent the universe itself … you know … that almost unextinguisable source of energy and power … even more so in the world of your inner psyche.
Robin: Indeed. How about you tell us more about this … let’s call it the “sphere of power” shall we. Care to tell more about it?
Asphodèle: Not tonight, my psyche. You need rest. Not enough chit chat and off to bed. We’ll resume this conversation later … AFTER you slept.
Robin: Fine, fine … MOM!! Stay tuned dear readers, and we’ll continue this conversation another time.
Asphodèle: See you later mortal … oh … and please refrain from calling me “mom” in the future.
Robin: Euhhhhh … Okay.
Asphodèle: Enough chit chat. Save and close. And then, you know what to do…..
“And the screen suddenly faded to black … “
